Tribute to Major George Kofi Akoetey Rtd

By His Nephew Hillarious Albert Kwetey

"And I heard a voice from heaven saying, 'Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.' 'Yes,' says the Spirit, 'they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.'" (Revelation 14:13)

As we gather to celebrate the life of my beloved uncle, Major George Kofi Akoetey Rtd, I am filled with a mix of sadness and gratitude—sadness at the loss of a pillar in our family, and gratitude for the incredible life he lived and the impact he had on us all. But as the Apostle Paul wrote, "But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as do the rest who have no hope." (1 Thessalonians 4:13). Though we will miss him dearly, we take comfort in the knowledge that Major's soul has found eternal rest.

With a life spanning almost 88 years, he accumulated a wealth of experiences, achievements, and memories that will be treasured forever. As a nephew, I had the privilege of knowing Major as a kind, wise, and compassionate mentor. He taught me the importance of humility, hard work, and dedication, and his influence has shaped me into the person I am today.

Today, we will also celebrate his life and the memories we shared with him. May his legacy live on through us, and may we continue to draw inspiration from his courage, character, and wisdom.

Your memory will continue to be a blessing to us all, and we will always cherish the time we shared with you. With love and respect, I salute you, old soldier. Fare thee well. Rest in peace, Uncle. Hede nyuie, Dzidzor le nutifafa me.

Condolence Letter to Enam Akoetey-Eyiah & Family

From Mutuma Marangu

Dearest Enam,

It is with a heavy heart that I write this Letter of Sincere Condolence to you and the Akoetey Family on the very sad, untimely passing and loss of your dear father, Major George Kofi Akoetey (rtd).

Whilst this year is now half over and I have not been privileged to have as much time and interaction with you, as I would have liked predicated on multiple marco changes of the first half of this year, I do recall your how important your father was in your life, as indeed your mother has been in your life, which is a blessing

Enam, I know that, like your mother, your father, Major Akoety (rtd), by example, instilled in you many great attributes that I appreciate and greatly respect, such as discerning intelligence, resilience, determination, empathy, and understated dignity. These special attributes and your kind-heartedness to all who come into contact with you make you a wonderful friend to me and many others, which are beautiful legacies that your parents have provided to you.

I write this Letter of Sincere Condolence as part of my and the Marangu Family's thoughts and prayers for your father, you, and the extended Akoety Family. May God be with you and the Akoety Family.

Once again, on behalf of the Marangu Family, I extend our deepest condolences. May your father, Major George Kofi Akoetey (rtd)'s Soul Rest In Perfect Peace.

God bless you all.
With all our love and prayers,
